Houstonians who are having a tough time getting enough dietary fiber heard why odor-free and taste-free Sunfiber may be a solution. Appearing on 94.1 Lite FM, registered dietitian and exercise physiologist Dr. Felicia Stoler emphasized the importance of eating fruits and vegetables for their vitamins and minerals, phytochemicals (plant pigments) and, more importantly, fiber content. While whole grains are another good fiber source, even they may not be sufficient.
Stoler explained, “The typical American diet has less than 10 grams of fiber per day and the recommendation for fiber intake is closer to 27 – 30 grams.” She encouraged listeners to supplement with Sunfiber. “What I really like about it is that it has no flavor and it’s completely soluble. So you can throw it in your orange juice, you can throw it in your coffee in the morning or your tea.” Fiber is a dietary essential because it may help us feel fuller longer and regulate our gastrointestinal system.
